Gianfranco Reyes is a transdisciplinary artist from Lima, Peru living in New York. Reyes works across many mediums including performance, sculpture, and installation. He received a BFA from The Cooper Union and is an MFA candidate at Columbia University. Reyes is a recipient of the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation Fellowship and has presented work in solo performances and group exhibitions including Untitled [Sunglasses] at LACMA, Queer Futurities at Coaxial Arts Foundation, La Feria at The Latinx Project, and ZAZ10TS Times Square. He was also a member of the cohort at SÍM Artist Residency in Reykjavik, Iceland. Reyes is a recipient of the Norman Sanders Fund, the Carroll and Milton Petrie Foundation Grant, the Professional Development Fund, the Innovator Merit Scholarship, the Dean's Travel Grant, and the Teaching Assistant Fellowship at Columbia University. Reyes has worked in arts education with CUSAI, The Cooper Union, Abrons Arts Center x School of Making Thinking and Harlem's Children's Art Carnival. Ephemera from his performances has been collected by the Archives and Special Collections of The Cooper Union.
