Gianfranco Reyes (b. Lima, Peru) is an artist living and working in Brooklyn, New York. Reyes works across the mediums of performance, sculpture and painting. Reyes received an A.A from CUNY, a BFA from The Cooper Union, and is an MFA candidate at Columbia University. Reyes has worked in education as a Studio Practice teacher for CUSAI and a Painting instructor at the Cooper Union. He is a recipient of the Norman Sanders Fund, The Carroll and Milton Petrie Foundation Grant, the Professional Development Fund, the Innovator Merit Scholarship, and the Teaching Fellowship at Columbia University. He has participated in several group shows including Queer Futurities at Coaxial Arts Foundation in Los Angeles, CA and he was part of the cohort at SIM Artist Residency in Reykjavik, Iceland. Ephemera from his performances has been collected by the Archives and Special Collections of The Cooper Union.
